About TEMC

The Tertiary Education Management Conference is organised in partnership by the Association for Tertiary Education Management (ATEM) and the Tertiary Education Facilities Management Association (TEFMA) and atttracts around 600 professional managers from higher education and TAFE institutes, Polytechnics, Wananga, government departments, private providers and similar organisations.

It is the only conference in the tertiary sector which covers the full range of functions in institutions, and is designed to allow participants to build strong networks across Australia and New Zealand. TEMC has a strong practitioner focus to support the sharing of knowledge and ‘know how’, and also provides opportunities to focus on big-picture issues as well. It allows participants to reflect on their management practice in a regional, national and global context.

TEMC papers are archived by the National Library of Australia, and can be accessed at: http://pandora.nla.gov.au/tep/10533

A joint TEMC steering committee now oversees the conference from year to year, with two members each from ATEM and TEFMA. The conference rotates around cities in Australia and New Zealand, with a local organising committee established with representation from both ATEM and TEFMA. The organising committee chair also rotates between ATEM and TEFMA each year.

The Conference Manual is maintained to provide local organising committees with the procedures and policies associated with running the TEMC.

Leishman Associates have been the professional conference organisers for the TEMC since 2004
